7 More Days to Survive Dying

Enemy Down?

How do you know when a zombie is down for good?

  • Look for the XP popup in the bottom right.
  • During quests, zombies related to the mission appear as red dots on your compass. If they go down, check the compass to see if they're out.
  • It's rarely a bad idea to double tap... just to be sure.

Ankle Biters

There are a few enemies that will hurt you and you won't be able to see them immediately because they're gnawing at your shins: Dogs, Snakes, and Spider Zombies. Make it a habit to use the "armadillo defense" and jump away when you get hit. Ideally try to get on top of something, then look around the floor for the sucker.

Were you raised in a barn?

Shut the doors! When backing up from zombies shut doors in their faces. This gives you a few seconds to heal or reload. After a few seconds they should knock holes in the door you can shoot through.

𝅘𝅥𝅮Don't Stop... Readin'𝅘𝅥𝅮

Even when you max out your skills or learn all the perks, read the magazines anyway for the XP they provide. Also, there's absolutely no reason to even transfer books to your inventory. Just consume them (Revelation style) right away off the shelf.

Regenerating Containers

This is also a bit cheaty. Apart from quests, loot containers regenerate every so many days, but only if they're empty. If you come back to a place and been a few days, you may find boxes you looted before and left some no-want-ems in. Just drop those items on the floor and back out of the looting interface, New stuff will instantly spawn inside it.

Toolbelt Reach

PC tip. The items on your toolbelt should be ordered with the items you need to switch to quickly under duress in slots 1-4. I recommend an axe in slot 1, then 2 Pistol, 3 Shotgun, 4 Automatic, Slots 5+ should have things like tools, food, and water... maybe explosives.

Clear as Mud

When doing clear zombie missions it's sometimes difficult to find the groups they want you to find. Fact is, when you have easy access to ladders or just tools to hack through walls, it's really easy and tempting to sequence break. There is an intended order you're supposed to go through locations. Each can be completed without any gear requirements, so in all likelihood there's a door, window, button, or floor hatch you missed. You are expected to sometimes parkour on the outside of buildings. The designers also use flashlights as an indication of which way to go.

Be sure not to leave the location until you see Return to Trader in the top right or you fail the quest.

Away From My Stash!

It's useful to have a place to drop off loot away from your bases. Make storage containers and place them near areas where quests usually occur. Place them on street corners away from buildings or even in the street so they don't get regenerated.

Fast forward to 32s. Come on Blogger work with me.

And most importantly...

Don't Forget to Reload, Mr. Freeman!

BUT... not when zombies are bearing down on you. When you run out, just switch to one that's already loaded. Have like 3 guns you can switch to and reload when you have the opportunity.
